NEWS
JULY UPDATE - 12th July, 2022
PLTC would like to welcome our new members recently joined and remind all members that Club night continues every Wednesday and is a great way to meet up and enjoy a social game of tennis. You do not need to book your spot, simply come along from 7.30pm. Club nights are run by a committee member who will be able to answer any queries you may have about the club or the game and will introduce new members to fellow members. All members rotate play on the courts during the session so that everyone present has an opportunity to play with others on the night.
PLTC has recently acquired two SpinFire Pro 2 Ball machines, available for member practice. All users using the Ball Machine in a session must be PLTC members and have their own Ball Machine Pass. This is very important as everyone using the machine must have undergone safety training and signed the Waiver. Guests may not use the Ball Machine. The Ball Machine can be booked out by Adult Members only – Junior members may use the machine while being supervised at an adult member’s Ball Machine session. Weather dependent we hope to continue with the ball machine demonstrations on Wednesday evenings from 9 pm after club night. Interested members may also come along to sign up and pay for their ball machine passes and receive PLTC guidelines for using the machines. You can check the Skeda booking to see if Ball demonstrations are scheduled for Wednesday nights at 9pm !
We hosted our PLTC Tennis Marathon in aid of the Mater Foundation on Sunday July 10th. This was a great fun day for a very important cause . This event was open to families and friends members and non-members. To date approximately €1000 euro has been raised. If any members wish to donate to this worthy cause they may do so online or attend this Wednesday evening at club night to donate. The Committee wish to thank everyone who supported the fundraiser and to all members who contributed to the organisation on the day. A very special thanks to Mary Lynch who provided breakfast and to Conor Hyland for his very tasty barbecue and treats that evening. Everyone really enjoyed the day and especially the evening celebrations with the exhibition match from JP, Helen, Chris and Csilla. PLTC appreciate their support of this event.
Congratulations to Tony O'Hare who was runner up in Nenagh open last week and to other members who did very well in the competition.
Finally we wish all PLTC members the best of luck in upcoming competitions in Puckane, Munster Summer Cup and Midland League Team events.
